Use application search in transaction SAIS_SEARCH_APPL
SAP_NEW represents a specific permission profile that summarises the concrete permission changes between two SAP release levels. A distinction should be made between SAP's delivery of the SAP_NEW profile and the generation of an SAP_NEW role with a corresponding profile by you as a SAP customer (see also the SAP hint 1711620). Depending on the authorisation tracking procedure, the SAP_NEW permission can be assigned to any user in a development and quality assurance system immediately after the technical system upgrade. However, the goal is to assign to each user in the production environment only permissions that they need for their business operations. In the context of upgrades, the correct permissions must be determined and integrated into the corresponding permission roles.
There are several ways to view the implementation of permission checks: Either you jump directly from the system trace for permissions to the appropriate locations in the programme code, or you go over the definition of the authorization objects. To view the permission checks from the permissions system trace, start the trace from the STAUTHTRACE transaction and run the applications you want to view. Now open the evaluation of the Trace. In the Programme Name column, you can see the programme that includes the Permissions Check. Double-click to go directly to the code site where the permission check is implemented.
Making the RESPAREA responsibility the organisational level
If you want to maintain authorizations and profiles manually, you need to know all SAP authorization components in detail. When using the Profile Generator, on the other hand, you do not need such detailed knowledge. This considerably reduces the time and effort required to implement the SAP system.
You can also find some useful tips from practice on the subject of SAP authorizations on the page www.sap-corner.de.
This very critical authorization can be used to electronically erase, or manipulate program runs including authorization queries in a variety of ways. This authorization should be assigned only very restrictively, for example developers need the authorization however for their daily work.
During go-live, the assignment of necessary authorizations is particularly time-critical. The "Shortcut for SAP systems" application provides functions for this purpose, so that the go-live does not get bogged down because of missing authorizations.
You can evaluate the configuration of the operating system, the database, and profile parameters in the ABAP and Java systems.
A note box in which data of all kinds can be quickly filed and retrieved. This is what Scribble Papers promises. At first, the program looks very spartan. But once a small structure is in place, you realise the great flexibility of this little helper.
Set up a new system and make sure that processes are always documented to the level of transactions.
