The Open Innovation Model approach comes into play in the idea creation, evaluation and selection phase, which can also be divided into the three eponymous sub-steps. In a closed innovation model, innovation is created only from the company itself. The Open Innovation Model allows for different sources of idea generation. So it is about opening up the innovation process, as shown in Figure 2, which was presented earlier. The figure shows the company boundaries through the dotted lines and the ideas that can be generated both within and outside the company. The Open Innovation approach can be divided into the three core processes of the Outside-In process, Inside-Out process and Coupled process. The Outside-In process involves knowledge from external sources in idea generation. This happens, for example, through cooperation with companies, suppliers or even customers. The inside-out process supports development, commercialisation, and deployment to markets outside of the organisation itself if there is little chance of success in implementing the idea internally. The Coupled process links the two strategies mentioned above. This is an attempt to generate cooperation successes through joint development and subsequent commercialisation in networks. In terms of the SAP basis, the Outside-In process plays an essential role in generating ideas within the framework of the Open Innovation approach.

As an alternative to internal recruitment and training, companies can also turn to external consultants or even outsource the entire SAP Basis administration to an external team with experience in SAP Basis.
CREATION OF A CATALOGUE OF CRITERIA
PROJECT HISTORIES: THE SAP basis OF TOMORROW An entry in the Forum Infrastructure and Operations within the DSAGNet drew attention to the problem of the SAP basis as described above. This led to a lively discussion, which attracted a lot of interest from the members of the DSAM. Building on the interest and need for action of the member companies, a project was initiated by the DSAG as well as by the SAP, which should deal with the future of the SAP basis. Several companies were invited to participate and their willingness to participate actively was questioned in a DSAG survey. The first project meeting took place within the framework of the DSAG Annual Congress in Bremen in 2015. As a result, regular events took place at the SAP office in Freiberg am Neckar and St Leon-Rot, with the participation of up to 15 companies. In the project "the SAP basis of Tomorrow", current questions of the companies as well as the question of the SAP basis of the future were discussed and worked out with regard to the IT landscape, processes and organisational structure. A master's thesis was initiated to document and prepare the results as well as to examine the topic in scientific terms in parallel with the project. This was made at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt as part of the Master's programme in Information Systems with Prof. Dr. Karl Liebschnitel and submitted for evaluation at the end of March 2016.

Automation of processes In an IDM, IT business processes, creating, modifying and deleting a user are defined centrally by means of a unique set of rules. All the necessary steps are then completed using automated workflows. User administration no longer has to be administered separately for each system, but only in a single point of administration. Data Consistency Employee data is created only once in a leading system in an IDM architecture. All attached systems use this data in their user management on demand. In a change of department or a new activity, permissions are automatically adjusted. Security and Documentation In a centralised user administration, users can be locked down efficiently on all systems or access rights can be changed. The connection to the personnel process automatically initiates the change process as soon as the master record is adjusted in the Human Resources Department. Documentation solutions can also be used to archive all processes without any gaps. This creates transparency which also facilitates the detection of a functioning and secure authorisation concept during audit tests.
